Becoming a Yogi

As a dance minor, it is required that I take a class known as somatics. This is more or less a yoga class. Today I had to conduct and teach my own yoga class for practice and it was quite the experience. For any of you who know anything about yoga at all, here was my sequence or "flow":

Start sitting in locust with your palms pressed together at heart center. (Be sure to focus on what you want to take away from this 30 min. class and some sort of spiritual purpose as well as calming the mind)
Lay on your back slowly stretching your spine, one vertebrae at a time until you are at a perfectly flat angle, then come back down.
Next go into plow.
Follow this with bow.
Go into cat/cow.
Now into child's pose, pausing to relax.
Standing forward bend came next.
Then we went into tree pose.
I followed this with standing extended leg stretch which can be a little challenging if you are not use to yoga.
Go back into standing forward bend.
Finish this up with beam.
Lay in corpse pose to reflect on the entire class.

"Namaste"
Hopefully, a few of you can understand these poses and try this sequence on your own. It will definetly help to relax you :) Your turn!
